Freshman at High School

My daughter the Freshman at High School, how an earth did that happen… One minute she was lying in her crib looking all beautiful and newborn, the next she was all grown into being a gorgeous teenager and going to High School.

Mabel D is a gorgeous, vivacious teenager, one minute she is bright and happy the next she is stomping around the house not happy about something, but I cannot complain about one thing, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, she has a generous heart and she loves her family above all else.

Going to High School as an Honors Student has not come easy to her, she always gives a 150% to anything she is doing, she has worked hard to achieve her Honors status and even over the summer she has spent many, many days working through her summer reading and assignments, I know she can achieve anything she sets her mind to in High School!

Now I have moaned about the last 3 1/2 weeks of High School sports early morning practices, both myself and my younger children have spent a lot of time in the car, and at the drive thru Starbucks for a few days, but both Mabel and Blu have shown a lot of drive and commitment to playing soccer this year, it has been hot and exhausting for both of them… I have to say after the first early morning of heat week I was doubtful Mabel would make it to the second day, she looked totally shell shocked, but to her credit she went back and completed every day since and is now a fully fledged member of a High School soccer team. (Although she is not impressed with the uniform they were given)

I hope that High School lives up to her high expectations and of course I hope she doesn’t get too lost getting around her new school, something she has been totally worried about all summer long.  It seems hard to believe that Summer has passed by so quickly, but I think we achieved many things on Mabel’s list of to do’s, thankfully they are only back for two days and then a nice long 3 day weekend to ease back into early mornings again, I was shocked it was still quite dark when I woke up this morning, even though it is still very hot and humid here, I feel Fall in the air!

Good luck my High School girl… We love you with all our hearts 🙂 x
